Dezember 1971 in München) ist ein deutscher Politiker (CSU), der 2009 zunächst Bundesminister für Wirtschaft und Technologie und danach bis 2011 Bundesminister der Verteidigung war. Seine politische Karriere wurde durch die Plagiatsaffäre um seine Dissertation beendet.
English: Karl-Theodor Freiherr von und zu Guttenberg (born December 5, 1971 in Munich), is a German politician of the Christian Social Union of Bavaria (CSU). From 28 October 2009, Guttenberg served as the Minister of Defence of Germany in the second Merkel cabinet; the discovery and widespread criticism of extensive plagiarism in his doctoral thesis led to his resignation as Minister of Defence on 1 March 2011.
