English: Kermesses go back to the festival celebrated to commemorate the consecration of a church. They are usually celebrated at the day of the patron sanct of the Church. Today they are are popular festivals in central Europe and England, they often feature demonstrations of dance, carnivals, music, banquets, and/or funfairs.
