English: The Life and Death of King John. Play by William Shakespeare, based on the life of medieval King John of England (a/k/a John Lackland), the brother of Richard Lionheart. Aside from his role in British mythology (such as the story of Robin Hood), the historical King John is probably best known for signing the Magna Carta, after giving in to the pressure of his own noble liegemen.
