Lecher lines or Lecher wires are a pair of parallel wires or rods that serve as a parallel transmission line stub. Before frequency counters were developed in the 1960s, they were used to measure the frequency of radio waves by physically measuring the distance between nodes of the standing waves on the line, giving the wavelength. Called resonant stubs, they are also used as tank circuits for UHF oscillators and radio transmitters.
