The Lehigh Valley Motor Club was initially organized in November, 1908. It recieved its charter from the American Automobile Association on March 1st 1909. Initially having its offices in the Commonwealth Building, In October 1932, they moved their offices into larger quarters in the first floor and basement of the former Dime Savings building at the northwest corner of Center Square after the bank closed. In 1946, they moved to the former Capitol Movie Theater building at 1020 Hamilton, and over the years expanded, building a new office adjacent to the location at 1026 Hamilton in December 1975. Branches were later established on Downyflake Lane in southwestern Allentown, in Bethlehem, Quakertown, Landsdale and Rowersford and expanded its workforce to about 150 people. In March, 1992, the club renamed itself as AAA Lehigh Valley.

After over 70 years the Motor Club announced in April 2019 it was moving its headquarters to 961 Marcon Boulevard in the Lehigh Valley Industrial Park III off Airport Road in Hanover Township. The new location is about twice the size of its offices on Hamilton Street. In May 2021, the former Motor club complex was sold to City Center Development who raised the 1014, 1020 and 1026 buildings in November 2021. A new apartment building complex wil be built on the site.
