The Lehigh Valley Wholesale Grocery Company was a cooperative, with offices at 1135-1149 Plymouth Street in Allentown. The company operated as a grocery wholesaler to independent grocers in the Lehigh Valley Area who owned and operated their own stores under the trade name "Economy Stores". The company began in July 1923 when W M D Miller moved to Allentown from Lancaster and started the company.

Economy Stores began as a trade name about 1910 when the A&P grocery chain began to wholesale their products to independent grocers, providing canned groceries, breads, meats, and other food products. In 1920, the Economy Store formed its own cooperative, and in July 1923 became the major stockholder and investor in the Lehigh Valley Wholesale Grocery Company, who replaced A&P as their supplier.

Beginning in 1950, Lehigh Valley Wholesale Grocery began to supply the stores with its own brand groceries, under the name "Trexler Park". Trexler Park products consisted primarily of canned fruits and vegetables, teas and coffees, pork and beans, various condiments, Meat, fish, poultry and game; meat extracts.

Trexler Park products were distributed in about 400 Economy Stores in Bucks, Carbon, Lehigh and Northampton counties, as well as in Northern New Jersey, until Lehigh Valley Wholesale Grocery ended operations in 1981 in a forclosure. With the foreclosure, the Economy Store cooperative was dissolved.
