Master Leonhard von Brixen was working between 1453 and 1473 in the region of nowaday South Tyrol ( Alto Adige/Italy ) and founded the "Brixener Schule". He was a rather conservative artist, ignoring new developments arts brought about in this region by Hans Multscher and Michael Pacher, but his colurful paintings were rather popular at his time.

Important works are paintings in cloister of Brixen, frescos in Taisten around 1459( Pustertal ), in Vahrn around 1474 etc.
