The Sheridan Theatre, erected by the Sheridan Theatre Company, whose president was Max Spiegel, opened September 17, 1921. It occupied the entire block front of 7th Avenue between Greenwich Avenue and 12th Street. The opening feature was the film Disraeli, starring George Arliss.

Loew's Theatres took the house over in 1926.
