English: Mary Lawrence (1868-1945), American sculptor born in New York, pupil of Augustus Saint-Gaudens (1848-1907) at the Art Students League of New York, whom she assisted even when she had her own studio. Married to French sculptor François Tonetti in 1900. She modeled and executed the statue of Columbus raised in front of the Administration Building of the World's Columbian Exposition (1893).
