English: Moni Toplou is a monastery in the Itanos peninsula of northeastern Crete, which formerly it owned and to some degree still does. The grounds of the monastery itself contain a fortified main building and numerous outbuildings. Route 47 from Sitia to Vai runs through the grounds, providing access to the monastery. In 2011 based on the land it owns, the Settlement of Toplou was created as a Local Community of Palaikastro.
