English: The Mundaneum was created in 1910 out of the initiative of two Belgian lawyers. Paul Otlet and Henri La Fontaine aimed to gather together all the world's knowledge and classify it according to a system they developed called the Universal Decimal Classification.
Français : Le Mundaneum est un système de classement bibliographique universel imaginé par Henri La Fontaine et Paul Otlet en 1910. Contrairement à l'usage situant dans les travaux de Vannevar Bush, Douglas Engelbart ou Leonard Kleinrock les prémices qui favoriseront l'avènement de l'Internet, ils forment les concepts essentiels qui en fondèrent l'idée.
Nederlands: Het Mundaneum is een museum gesticht in 1910 op initiatief van twee Belgische advocaten Paul Otlet (1868–1944) en Henri La Fontaine (1854–1943). Het museum is tegenwoordig gelegen in de Belgische stad Bergen.
