Bowen is a coastal town and locality in the Whitsunday Region, Queensland, Australia. Bowen sits on a square peninsula, with the Coral Sea to the north, east, and south. To the south-east is Port Denison and Edgecumbe Bay.
The town has a tropical savannah climate (Köppen climate classification: Aw). It is noticeably drier than surrounding locations due to a rain shadow effect produced by the nearby Gloucester Island.
