English: Népkert (or Népliget) People's Garden (or People's Grove) is a Park just south of the Downtown of Hódmezővásárhely, Csongrád-Csanád County, Hungary. Bordered from north Tóalj Street from south Bartók Béla and Tisza István Streets, from west the city beach and swimming pool (Ady Endre Road), from east Kaszap Street and a shop/commercial complex. In Népkert built the wooden building of the Nyári színkör (~Summer Theater) in the 19th century, demolished in the 1950s, now a memorial column by Győző Szatyor, (1991 works) can be see on its place. From west on the right side of the Bartók Street is a play park/playground with a rubber-clad running path around. There is a artificial mound called Somogyi domb (Somogyi Hill), used as a playground slide hill in summertime and for sledding on winter. Next to this sports and playing area a groove-like meadow with trees connected. The a north-south path for runners and a promenade lead to north to an other playground with climbing toys, one of these the 'Dragon slide' by sculptor Zsuzsa Pannonhalmi (2006), east of its is the 'Girl with geese' or 'Gooseherd girl' by Zsigmond Kisfaludi Strobl (1966 aluminum fountain statue)). From Tóalj Street a Székely (Sekler) gate lead, next to it is kopjafa memorial. The walkway brick pavements refer to the former Hódmezővásárhely Brickyard. There are bikeway and public toilets too. Among the old trees of the park, the huge oaks, ashes, lindens, maple are the most significant. There is a new hazel pine tree row too. Park size: 60,000sqm.
