Nalgonda (Telugu: నల్లగొండ) is is one of the 33 districts of Telangana state, India. Nalgonda is the district headquarter. Its name is derived from the Telugu words Nalla ("Black") and Konda ("Hills") meaning "Black Hills". Nalgonda was earlier referred to as Neelagiri, the name given by some Rajput rulers, and the name was changed to Nallagonda by Allauddin Bahaman Shah, a Bahamani king.17°10′0″N 79°30′0″E / 17.16667°N 79.5°E
