The Ghanaian National Petroleum Authority (NPA) is a body corporate of the Ghanaian government for the coordination of a further upgrading of the petroleum recovery in offshore areas of Ghana. The allocation of haulage licenses and shares of those takes place in Ghana solely by the NPA. The NPA was established in 2005 by the Act 691 (National Petroleum Authority Act) as successor of the 1983 incorporated Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC).
