The New Juaben Municipal District is currently a part of the Eastern Region of Ghana.
- Established: 1988 (LI 1426)
- Population of the district: 183,727 natural persons (census 2010)
- Administrative capital of the New Juaben Municipal District: Koforidua (Simultaneously is Koforidua also the capital of the Eastern Region of Ghana.)
The district emerged largely from the area of "New Juaben" (also: New Dwaben, New Dwabin, New Juabin or in similar spellings) which was founded in 1834 by civil war refugees from Asante as Ashanti enclave on the frontiers between the kingdoms of Akim-Abuakwa and Akwamu.
