English: This category is for the en:Nipkow disk, a flat metal disk with a spiral pattern of holes in it, which was used in many of the first experimental mechanical-scan television systems until the 1940s. It was invented in 1885 by Paul Julius Gottlieb Nipkow as part of his electrical telescope.
