Carondelet Palace, Quito is located in the middle of the Historic Center of Quito, one of the best-preserved, least altered historic center in Latin America. United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) World Heritage Site consisting of 790 acres and over 130 monumental buildings & 8,000 smaller properties, The Colonial Center of Quito has numerous Churches and Convents. On September 8, 1978, The Historic Center of Quito was declared by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, UNESCO the first Cultural Heritage of Humanity for having one of the highest densities of historical centers in Latin America.

In Spanish, (El Centro Histórico de Quito) was constructed on what was once a 16th century Inca city at 2,850 meters above sea level in the Andes Mountains near the Equator.
