Oshi-e 押絵 or 押し絵 (literally pressed pictures), sometimes called kurumi-e 包絵 包み絵 くるみ絵 (literally wrapped pictures), are images made from fabric filled out usually with cotton and glued to a backing to make a three dimensional picture. Faces and other features may be hand painted. Oshi-e are most commonly seen in fancy hagoita made for display.
