English: Peregrine was an iron-hulled passenger steamship, built 1891 by WB Thomson & Co., Dundee for General Steam Navigation Co Ltd, London for London – Hamburg service. Dimensions: length: 280 ft (85.3 m); width: 37.6 ft (11.4 m); depth: 16.2 ft (493.7 cm)

. Tonnages: 1,660 GRT, 803 NRT. Triple expansion engine of 450 NHP. Service speed 16 knots. In December 1891 W Howard Smith & Sons Ltd, Melbourne bought her and had her converted for Australian service. 1906 lengthened to 97.6 m with 1,980 GRT. 1916 sold to Moller & Co, Shanghai but taken over by the UK Shipping Controller for war duties. She was scrapped in 1922.[1][2]
