Polyrhachis ammon, the Golden-tailed spiny ant, has a single known nest at the base of a Eucalyptus tereticornis in 7th Brigade Park, Chermside. No doubt other nests are in the park, probably in areas unfavourable to the aggressive Meat ant such as open forest with a dense understorey.
