This is a category for images of portraits uploaded by Annual Reviews. For purposes of this category, Portraits are defined in accordance with the Library of Congress’s scope note for portraits:

"Graphic representations, especially of the face, of real persons, usually posed, living or dead. Pictures whose purpose is the portrayal of an individual or several people, not pictures that merely include people as part of an event or scene."

Simiarly (Getty Images): "Representations of real individuals that are intended to capture a known or supposed likeness, usually including the face of the person."

Some of the photographs may have been taken informally and may be of lower quality.

Images may appear in both this category and in a category indicating a journal in which they appeared.
