English: Qal'at Ja'bar (Syria) is a largely 12th-century castle located on a hill-top formerly overlooking the Euphrates Valley, but now turned into an island by the creation of Lake Assad.
Nederlands: Qal'at Ja'bar (Syrië) stamt grotendeels uit de 12e eeuw en ligt op een heuveltop die vroeger uitzicht over de vallei van de Eufraat bood, maar nu veranderd is in een eiland door het ontstaan van het Assad-meer.
