Example of a red ticked tabby cat.
English: In red ticked coats the hair shafts have alternating red pigmented and paler bands. The tips of each hair are always red pigmented. This pattern is most often seen in cats from Asia or Africa. There is almost no tabby striping except possibly for thin stripes on the legs, face and tail. Instead, only the agouti pattern can be seen, giving a "ticked" effect. There is darker red-orange tabby pattern on the forehead, which can be connected into a big dot. Sometimes a darker dorsal stripe can be observed along the spine.
