- English: The Rhino ferry was a self-propelled unit developed by the U.S. Civil Engineer Corps. It consisted of 180 pontoons, grouped six wide and thirty long with an overall width of 12.80 m (42 ft) and an overall length of 53.30 m (175 ft). The ferries were powered by two Chrysler Marine outboard motors developing 143 horsepower that were mounted on the stern of each ferry, giving them a speed of three knots. The ferries displaced 279 t (275 long tons).
