William Lobb is a purple colour-change moss rose. The flowers open a deep reddish-purple. When fully open they are a slightly lighter purple, having lost the reddish tinge. When old, the blooms fade to a light shade of pinkish purple, but by then you can see that they are old blooms. This rose freely self-seeds, if the seed heads are not removed. The new plants breed true, i.e. the flowers remain as described above.
