English: Rub El Hizb or Rub al-Hizb (Arabic: ربع الحزب) is a common Quranic symbol, usually represented by a star-shaped octagram (two overlapping or interlaced squares, frequently with a circle or decorations in the center), or sometimes represented by an eight-petaled floral glyph, as in the Unicode character “Arabic start of Rub El Hizb” ‹۞› (U+06DE). It indicates boundaries of parts of sections in Quranic texts. In Arabic, rub‛ (ربع) means “quarter”, while hizb (حزب) means “part”, “group”, “party” or “section”.
