The original location of the Salmon River Fire Tower is a peak, was on the Quinault Reservation on a peak above forest road NF-2474, which links to forest road NF-2460 in the upper basin of Prairie Creek. NF - 2460 is accessed from U.S. 101 on Prairie Creek Road, which becomes forest road NF-2190. The location is about 10 miles (16 km) from Lake Quinault Inn on U.S. 101. It was moved to the Foothills History Museum in Buckley in 2000.
