The Shankaranarayana temple of Thekkumbad (Ramanthali Central) is a pre-10th century Harihara temple, with left half Vishnu and right half Shiva. The temple is notable for its two-storey (dvitala) apsidal floor plan with woodwork. This temple and nearby coastal rural region has been an important source of 9th to 11th century Hindu inscriptions about Shiva and Vishnu traditions.
