中文：圣时门：始建于明永乐十三年（1415年），时为孔庙大门。清雍正八年（1730年）钦定名为“圣时门”，取《孟子》中“孔子，圣之时者也”之语意，意为孔子是适应于任何时代的圣人。
English: Shengshi Gate (The Gate of Adaptation to Times): It was originally built in 1415, or the 13thyear of Yongle of the Ming Dynasty. In 1730, or the 8th year of Yongzheng of the Qing Dynasty, it was renovated and given its present name by the Emperor. The name was originated from Mencius, which means Confucius is a sage in any times.
