English: Sherry is a fortified wine, made in and around the town of Jerez, Spain. Hence in Spanish it is called "Vino de Jerez;" in fact, the word "sherry" is an Anglicized version of the town's name. According to Spanish law, Sherry must come from the small triangular area of the province of Cádiz between Jerez de la Frontera, Sanlúcar de Barrameda, and El Puerto de Santa María.

Español: El jerez (en inglés sherry y en francés xérès) es un tipo de vino español que se cría en las ciudades andaluzas de Jerez de la Frontera, El Puerto de Santa María y Sanlúcar de Barrameda.

Français : Les xérès sont des vins blancs produits dans le sud de l'Andalousie. Ces vins, fort appréciés des Britanniques, sont également connus sous l'appellation sherry. Le vinaigre de Xérès est également produit à partir de ces vins.
