English: The Sony Duad was a Japanese domestic trademark for double-layer ferrichrome magnetic tape uses in reel-to-reel, Compact Cassette and Elcaset audio media. Outside of Japan, it was sold as Sony Ferri Chrome and Sony FeCr. According to vintagecassettes.com, the Duad trademark was in use from 1973 to 1988, when Sony discontinued ferrichrome sales altogether.
