English: The South Ship Canal project in Seattle, Washington, U.S. was Eugene Semple's ultimately unsuccessful effort to connect Lake Washington to Elliott Bay through a route south of downtown Seattle. It did result in filling much of what is now Seattle's Industrial District, formerly tidelands and mudflats.
