(Esslinger was a German painter and engraver worked often in Zurich (Switzerland) (born March 1793 in Glattfelden (Germany); died 9 February 1841 in Zürich (Switzerland)). The print plates for the stamps of the "Kantonalpost Zürich", printed in 1843/1849 at the printery "Füssli & Co." were his creation, although Esslinger was already dead at the time of printing.)
