- Colossal marble statue of James Watt by Francis Chantrey was first erected in a small chapel within Westminster Abbey in 1825. In 1960 it was removed from the abbey and since has variously been located at a transport museum in London, in St Paul's Cathedral, at Heriot-Watt University and, most recently, in the Scottish National Portrait Gallery.
