English: Work by Gabriel Faraill from C.E.1891. The statue of King D. Sebastião, which was located at the door of the Rossio train station, in Lisbon, was completely destroyed after falling to the ground when a young man climbed into the statue's niche to take photographs, at 11.50 pm on May 3, C.E.2016.

The replica of the statue was placed on the facade on July 21, C.E.2021, a production awarded by Infraestruturas de Portugal (I.P.) to the sculptor and restorer Pedro Lino, from the firm Pigmento Efémero – Artes e Restauro.
The choice to place a replica in semi-hard white limestone is due to the fact that the original sculpture is vulnerable, having lost physical and chemical properties due to the quality of the stone and its age.

The production of the replica took around four months using molds and counter-molds of the original model.

Sebastião que se encontrava à porta da estação de comboios do Rossio, em Lisboa, ficou totalmente destruída depois de tombar para o chão quando um jovem subiu ao nicho da estátua para tirar fotografias, às 23.50 horas de 3 de maio de 2016.

A réplica da estátua foi em 21 de Julho de 2021 colocada na fachada sendo uma produção adjudicada pela Infraestruturas de Portugal (IP) ao escultor e restaurador Pedro Lino, da firma Pigmento Efémero – Artes e Restauro.
A opção por colocar uma réplica em calcário branco semirijo deve-se ao facto de a escultura original estar vulnerável, por ter perdido propriedades físicas e químicas devido à qualidade da pedra e à idade da mesma.

A produção da réplica demorou cerca de quatro meses a partir de moldes e contramolde do modelo original.
