The statue "Summer", located beside the Carnegie Building in Hokitika, New Zealand, commemorates Hokitika's hosting of the 1923–24 British and Intercolonial Exhibition. The statue, by an unnamed European artist, was donated to the Westland Borough Council by the Secretary of the Exhibition, D.J. Evans. It was installed in what was then the gardens of Macandrew Square near the former Exhibition entrance in November 1925. The Intercolonial Exhibition commemorated the opening of the Otira Tunnel in 1923 and the 60th anniversary of Westland Province in 1924.
