English: T-head engines were sidevalve engines with inlet and exhaust valves on opposite sides of the cylinder, usually driven by separate camshafts, with separate camshaft drives. This gave an inefficient combustion chamber design which soon fell from favour to the L-head or F-head designs. The design persisted for longer as a textbook illustration, commonly appearing in mechanic's handbooks into the 1940s as the layout was simple to appreciate.
