Tangenziale Est is an urban road of Rome that connects several Eastern quarters of the city. It runs southward starting from the junction with the eastern end of Via del Foro Italico with Via Salaria and ending to the Aurelian Walls near San Giovanni and crosses from north to south the quarters Parioli, Trieste, Nomentano, Pietralata, Tiburtino and Tuscolano; it is circa 7.7 kilometres long and for the most part of its lenght the Tangenziale Est runs side-by-side to the urban sector of the Florence-Rome railway. From its start to the junction with Via Nomentanta its name is "Circonvallazione Salaria"; from that point to the Tiburtina railway station its name is "Circonvallazione Nomentana" and from there to the end its name is "Circonvallazione Tiburtina".
