Tarota (plural Tarotes) is a Catalan wind instrument of the double reed instruments family.

Modern embodiments of the Tarota have a conically drilled wooden body and a double reed, which is attached to a connecting tube of metal (Tudell). Of about 60 centimeters long wooden body usually consists of three (or two) parts. The simplest and most common version is called tarota seca. It has six finger holes on the front and one on the back (in addition, there are models without rear handle hole). But it is also up to eight flaps are added to facilitate gripping of the low tones, or the playing of semitones. The Tarota is usually simply overblown.
