English: On october 23 hungarians commemorate the 1956 uprising against soviet occupation. On the 19th of March, Hungary was occupied by the Third Reich, soon to be followed by the russian army. On october 1956 Hungarians gathered to show support for the anti-soviet protest in Poznan, Poland. During the demonstrations somebody cut the soviet imposed emblem out of the Hungarian flag. The Flag-with-the-Hole became one of the most indelible images of the 1956 War of Independence. Today it's a worldwide, powerful symbol for freedom. The Flag-with-the-Hole was for the first time on the 23rd of October, 1956. On this day demonstrators on the Margit - híd flyed it.
Magyar: Október 23-én a magyarok az szovjet megszállás elleni 1956-os felkelés évfordulóját ünneplik. 1944 március 19-én a Harmadik Birodalom csapatai megszállták Magyarországot.
