Theodor Finne (1874-1938) was born in Christiania, Norway. He served an apprenticeship with Johanna Petersen Lund from 1891 to 1892, and was later employed by Carl Sandels in Fredrikstad; and Gustav Borgen in Christiania. He started his own company on May 1, 1895. It was taken over in 1939 by his son Thore Fredrik Finne, who in 1938 also bought "Borgens Atelier". He moved the photographic studio in 1939 to Karl Johans gate 19, and ran both photographic studios under the company name "Fotograf Finne" until he sold it in 1952 to Bent Harald Lund, who now runs it under the company name "Fotograf Finne, Bent Lund". The company was closed in June 1987. The photographic archive was deposited in the National Institute for Historical Photography until it in 1990s it was transferred to the National Library in Oslo.
