Torne lappmark is the northernmost of the traditional Sami districts in Sweden. It is located to the north of Lule lappmark, in Lappland. Until the border between Sweden and Norway was finally settled in 1751, the Swedish state claimed that this district encompassed also northern Norway, all the way to the North Atlantic sea, and parts of northern Finland.
