English: During the reign of Henry VIII most of Torre Abbey was destroyed during the dissolution of the monasteries. The remains can be visited in the gardens of the Abbey. These ruins include remains of the medieval church including its great tower, now collapsed, the monastic cloister and garth and a variety of important areas such as the Chapter House with its fine example of a Norman arch. Other archaeological features to be seen are graves, medieval stairs, carvings and hand painted tiles.
