Traffic lights at red and green state. This is not a malfunctioning state, because:

  • In countries such as the United Kingdom, a red phase with a green filter arrow can mean that vehicles may proceed in the direction of the arrow, ahead of those proceeding in other directions;
  • A set of lane control lights can also show red and green phases simultaneously;
  • Long exposure photography can create an illusion of a traffic light showing red and green at the same time.
