English: Tuomaanpuisto/Tomasparken: Park in the Piispankatu/Biskopsgatan area, by the campus of Åbo Akademi University (ÅA) and University of Turku (TY), formerly part of military garrisons. The houses by the park are now (2020) in use by TY. The park is often used in events by the students, and the summer event of Piispankatuyhdistys, the association for local residents. The playground is in use by locals and the daycare centre Kastanjen, run by Folkhälsan and with many of the children's parents working at ÅA. The hill behind the park is used for picnics, and there is a tennis court administered by TY on the hillside. There are two statues, one commemorating the military units that had their garrison here, the other the volunteers of the Lotta Svärd Organisation. Piispankatu, Kasarminkatu and Arwidssoninkatu lead by the park, and the passage through the park leads from TY to Tuomaanpolku and the bridge Tuomaansilta.
