Shoulder Sleeve Insignia[edit]

Description[edit]

1. A maroon heater shield with a ⅛ inch (.32 cm) white border with an attached maroon rectangular scroll above the shield edge white; on the shield issuing from base a white ram affronté.
2. On the scroll the inscription “BANGOR” in white letters 5/16 inch (.79 cm) in height.
3. The overall dimensions of shield and scroll 3 inches (7.62 cm) in height and 2 inches (5.08 cm) in width.

1. The shoulder sleeve insignia was approved on 1968-12-03.

Distinctive Unit Insignia and Device[edit]

Description[edit]

1. A Silver color metal and enamel device 1⅟4 inches (3.18 cm) in height overall consisting of an arced shield blazoned: Sanguine a ram’s head caboshed below a mullet Argent, on an arced chief of the like three pine trees Vert.
2. Attached above the shield a Maroon scroll inscribed “18 BANGOR 61” in Silver letters.
3. Attached below the shield a Maroon scroll inscribed “PRIDE COURAGE” in Silver letters.

Symbolism[edit]

1. Maroon and white are the school colors.
2. The ram is the school mascot.
3. The star alludes to achievement.
4. The white pine trees are indicative of the school’s location in a forested area.

1. The shoulder loop insignia was authorized 1989-06-23.

Flag[edit]

Description[edit]

• Size:

1. Hoist: Three Feet.
2. Fly: Four Feet.
3. The flag is silver gray fringed in scarlet.
4. In the center is the JROTC device consisting of two arched olive branches with stems conjoined in base, forming a wreath, surmounted by a sheathed saber and rifle in saltire.
5. Overall in the vertical center is the ROTC torch enflamed, all in yellow.
6. Around the center device is a white band edged in scarlet and inscribed with the name of the school in scarlet letters.
7. The device with designation scroll is 16 inches in diameter.
8. In the upper hoist is the monogram “ARMY ROTC” in scarlet on a white disc edged in scarlet, 6½ inches in diameter.
