English: Umberto Borghi is born in Mantua by Paolo and Irma Sassi. While studying at the Parma Conservatory, he took singing lessons in Mantua from the teacher Ettore Campogalliani. After winning a scholarship set up by the experimental lyric theater Adriano Belli of Spoleto, he began his musical activity that will cover a period of more than forty years. In this period he performed in prestigious stages in Italy and abroad

In seguito vinta una borsa di studio istituita dal Teatro lirico sperimentale Adriano Belli di Spoleto, inizia la sua attività musicale che coprirà un arco di tempo superiore a quaranta anni. In questo periodo si esibisce in prestigiosi palcoscienici in italia e all'estero
