Description
Deutsch: Glenkiln Cross (dt.: "Schottisches Kreuz") erregte auf der Documenta 1959 Aufsehen. Der Kunstmäzen Bernhard Sprengel erwarb ein Exemplar der Skulptur und machte es der Stadt Hannover 1960 zum Geschenk. Die Wahl für einen geeigneten Standort fiel aufgrund der Eigenwilligkeit der Plastik nicht leicht; bei der endgültigen Entscheidung nahm Henry Moore, der seinerzeit in Hannover weilte, entscheidenden Einfluß auf den Aufstellungsort. Heute wird das Kreuz im Maschpark von Nadelbäumen eingerahmt.
