English: Utility poles, alternately referred to as telephone poles, power poles, telegraph poles or telegraph posts (all names commonly misused colloquially, as these names refer to their specific equipment), are (usually wooden) poles used to support overhead wire, cable, fiber optic cables, and related equipment such as transformers and street lights.
